Project Brief

The customer’s primary need was to manage and optimize all product information in order to create a unified access point and facilitate the ordering process by distributors. The division of existing information into silos and the difficulty of managing complex catalogs increased the management cost and effort by work teams, making the entire flow redundant and non-scalable.

Sintra has structured a complex technological system that simplifies the entire management of product catalogs, assets available to distributors and the creation of a B2B portal to give access to the latter and make them totally autonomous in creating orders.

WHAT WE DID

Creating two platforms for an orderly management of information

Sintra created a product information management platform with Pimcore and implemented a B2B portal with Liferay, to enhance order management on the distributor side.

A challenging project: data organization modeled on Pimcore and Liferay

The solution provided by Sintra was the organization of data in two platforms, one modeled with Pimcore, optimizing all the information of the product catalog and the other executed, with Liferay, which allowed a correct order management, distributors’ side, making them autonomous in the creation of orders and simplifying customer care activities:

the tight deadlines for the delivery execution

  • integration work with the external supplier for outsourced activities

In both cases Sintra’s response was adequate:

  • The replatforming work began in August and the site was delivered in October
  • eCommerce is perfectly integrated with the required features.
